The main town of the Valle Isarco valley is one of the oldest cities in the Alpine region and is very rich in historical places and buildings. The Piazza Duomo in front of the cathedral and its surroundings, including the old prince-bishop’s palace, provide the ecclesiastical setting for your holiday. Around this artistically historically church district, a maze of branching alleyways (above all the Große and Kleine Lauben) offers the perfect location for an afternoon of shopping, including a refreshing aperitif in one of the numerous cafés and bars. And to round off the day, an delicious glass of wine in one of the town’s first-class wine bars. As an art historian and shopping enthusiast, host Edith* is essentially the ideal advisor and will inspire you with numerous insider tips.
*Just to note, if you are really interested, you can certainly organise a short city tour with Edith.
Away from the hustle and bustle and yet full of life. That is how we would describe our village of Albes. As soon as you enter the small village you can see: it is full of a charm of its own! Old walls with picturesque ensembles of buildings provide plenty of material for village walks. 700 Albes residents, 2 churches, 2 restaurants, 1 shop, thousands of apple trees and plenty of peace and quiet.
Would you rather enjoy a delicious pizza or some imaginatively prepared South Tyrolean delicacies? Everything is possible in Albes! And you will find everything you need for your holiday at our apartments in our village shop.
What could be better than watching nature reawaken from its slumber? Long walks through blooming apple orchards are the hit of the season. Simply magical. It is the ideal time for a day trip to Bolzano or Merano. Thanks to the BrixenCard, all public transport is at your disposal.
The snow has now also melted on the mountains. Plose (free ascent with the BrixenCard), Lago Rodella, the Odle peaks, Sass de Putia. There are plenty of mountain peaks to discover close by. Or you can set off on a journey of discovery by bike. The Valle Isarco cycle path is very close. And if you’re looking to cool down: Daily entry to the Acquarena swimming pool in Bressanone is also included.
The air is now fresh and clear and offers unrivalled views. That’s why autumn is probably the best time for hikes and bike tours in the mountains. But there is also a lot going on when it comes to cuisine: The Törggele spots are now opening their cellars and parlours and inviting you to taste their traditional farm products. Bring your appetite! Don´t miss out.
We have snow! Maybe not always in our village, it’s too sunny here. But on the Plose, our local mountain, skiing fun awaits. Snowshoe hikers will also find lots of small winter wonderlands in the surrounding area. Just ask your host family.
